Acceptable use policy
Last updated 16 October 2026 · DC5
Lookup infrastructure is easy to abuse. These rules protect this instance, upstream RDAP/WHOIS/DNS operators and people whose data appears in public registration records.
Allowed
- Interactive lookups of domains, IPs, CIDRs, ASNs and supported Web3 names you have a legitimate reason to inspect.
- Modest automated use of the documented API within the published rate limit.
- Security, abuse-desk, network engineering and similar professional purposes.
Not allowed
- Bulk harvesting, crawling or mirroring of the API or UI to build a registration database.
- Bypassing or load-testing rate limits, or using rotating proxies to evade them.
- Using lookups to stalk, harass, dox or target a natural person.
- Submitting queries whose only purpose is to overload this service or an upstream registry.
- Attempting to reach undocumented admin, debug or wallet RPC methods through this console (they are not exposed).
- Uploading or enabling licensed threat-intel dumps you are not licensed to use, if you operate a copy of this software.
- Misrepresenting lookup output as a government, ICANN or RIR decision.
Enforcement
We may return HTTP 429, drop traffic, or disable an instance feature without notice if these rules are broken. Repeated abuse may be reported to the relevant upstream or hosting provider.
