DC5 WHOIS aggregates third-party data. It is a lookup helper, not an authoritative registry, not a court, and not a substitute for RDAP/WHOIS at the source.

Registration data

Domain and IP records come from RDAP, fallback WHOIS, DNS and local RIR/IANA/PSL snapshots. Those sources can be stale, redacted (GDPR/privacy proxy), incomplete or wrong. Availability badges are heuristics (for example RDAP “not found” or an unregistered ENS name), not a right to register the name.

Reputation

Local reputation is evidence from downloaded lists (Spamhaus DROP, FireHOL, URLhaus and an operator list). A match is not a determination that a host is malicious. An empty result is not a clean bill of health. Verdicts are not credit scores and must not be used as the sole basis to deny service to a person.

GeoIP

City/country from a local MMDB is an approximation. It can be wrong for anycast, VPNs, CGNAT and documentation prefixes. This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.

Web3 names

ENS, Unstoppable, SPACE ID and Handshake results depend on the operator’s RPC provider and Handshake resolver. Reorgs, custom errors, missing resolvers and unregistered names are possible. Look-alike warnings, mail-security grades and anonymizer tags are heuristics from public data, not verdicts. Contenthashes are pointers only; this console does not fetch arbitrary IPFS content by default.
